OFFICERS

The following shall be officers of the Church:  Moderator, Moderator Elect, Church Clerk, Assistant Church Clerk, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Assistant Financial Secretary, three (3) Auditors, President of the Men’s Fellowship, President of the Women’s Fellowship, and the Chief Usher.

THE CHURCH COUNCIL

The Church Council shall be the primary executive body of the church. It shall maintain general oversight of all activities of the church, plan prayerfully for the church’s future and provide a forum for communication among various committees and officers.

The Church Council shall consist of the Moderator, Church Clerk, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Chairperson of the Board of Deacons, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Chairperson of the Board of Christian Education, Chairperson of the Council of Circles and Clubs and nine (9) members-at-large. The Senior Minister and Senior Associate Minister shall be ex-officio members of the Church Council and its Executive Committee, with voices, but without vote.

BOARDS

Board of Christian Education shall plan for the development of the Christian education program of the Church. It shall administer the Church School, and shall select the Director of the Church School. They shall consist of fifteen (15) members, of which at least three (3) shall be youth members of the Church, 21 years of age or under.  boce@peopleschurchucc.org

Board of Christian Social Action shall be responsible for relating the message(s) of our Christian Gospel to the total society on the local, national and international levels. The Board of Christian Social Action shall work in concert with the ministers and other staff to achieve its objectives and shall consist of twelve (12) members.

Board of Deacons (Diaconate) shall assist the Ministers in the administration of the Lord’s Supper and shall visit the sick, counsel members, provide for the supply of the pulpit when necessary, look after the needy and assist in the spiritual care of the Church. There is no limit to the number of senior or ordained deacons. However, the number of primary deacons cannot exceed thirty.

Board of Trustees shall consist of twenty-one (21) members who shall hold the property of the Church in trust, properly issue it and maintain it in good repair. It shall supervise the financial affairs of the Church, and secure the financial cooperation of the members and congregation in the support of the work of the Church.
